I have seen so many local businesses over the last couple of weeks, who are not doing it well, that I just had to comment…
Note: Was that little bit of hair sticking up frustrating you too??
There you go, nothing like real, uneditted footage for you.
Now, back to Facebook. Do you have a page that isn’t getting you the results you want? Are you posting lots of compitions (breaking all the rules in the process because you haven’t ever read the terms and conditions)? Are you on Facebook because you know it’s the “in thing”.
“But everyone say I should” I hear you cry. My mother asked me “If everyone jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?”
So often we blindly follow without really knowing what we are doing. Today I would like you to stop and think about these key points.
1. Are you potential clients/customers on Facebook? Is this where they spend their spare time?
If the answer is yes, then great. If the answer is no (and be honest, I know lots of people who don’t have Facebook) then why are you there?
2. Is it providing a return on your investment?
“But it’s free, right?”… Wrong. Your time is valuable. You don’t work for your clients for free, you charge a fee per hour/per product so why do you percieve Facebook to be free. There is a large time investment with making Facebook work, are you honestly getting a good return on your money?
3. What is your goal?
Do you have clear set goals for your Facebook page? Is there a certain number of new customers you would like to get, or a certain number of sales you would like to make? If you don’t know the answers to these questions, then it is time to stop and take a look at what you are doing on Facebook.
Facebook is a wonderful business tool, and I know a lot of people making a lot of money through it. However, I know many more who are making no money at all. If you are going to do it, do it right…
